Our Story
It started with one song.
1 student. 1 piano. 1 resident.
Our story began when one student musician volunteered at a senior living community, originally performing for an audience of just one resident. A simple piano performance soon became something much more meaningful.
1 conversation. 1 connection.
Week after week, the audience grew—and so did the relationships. Familiar songs sparked memories and conversations that continued long after the final note.
More musicians. More moments.
Talented high school musicians were looking for meaningful ways to give back. Senior communities were eager to connect with young people, with live music as an added bonus.
Two worlds, brought together.
The Meraki Project was born to make those connections possible—turning service hours into shared stories, friendships, and afternoons filled with joy.
